In short

Fulk Al Salamah is a 164-metre support vessel that the Genoa yard Mariotti Yachts built under the code name Project Saffron and delivered to Oman in July 2016 (Boat International, August 2016). Boat International's directory ranks her as the second-longest yacht in the world, after Azzam (Boat International). SuperYacht Times reported at her delivery that she would join the 155-metre Lürssen superyacht Al Said in Muscat as part of Oman's royal fleet, and that she is believed to replace an older 136-metre support ship of the same name (SuperYacht Times, July 2016). With a large helideck but few open-air lounging spaces, she reads as a support ship rather than a superyacht in her own right, and Boat International calls her the world's largest superyacht support vessel (Boat International, August 2016).

Questions

How big is the Fulk Al Salamah yacht?
Fulk Al Salamah is 164 metres (538 ft) long with a draught of 9.3 metres (Boat International). SuperYacht Times gives her beam as 24 metres and her gross tonnage as 20,361 (SuperYacht Times); Boat International's figures, first estimated at her delivery in 2016, are a 28-metre beam and 11,000 gross tons (Boat International, Boat International, August 2016).
Is Fulk Al Salamah the second-largest yacht in the world?
By length, yes, according to two directories: Boat International's directory ranks her as the second-longest yacht in the world, and SuperYacht Times also lists her at number two (Boat International, SuperYacht Times). Only the 180.61-metre Azzam is longer (Boat International). Not every ranking includes her: Boat International's February 2025 list of the 25 largest yachts in the world does not list her and puts Eclipse (162.5 m) second (Boat International, February 2025).
What is Fulk Al Salamah used for?
She is a support vessel for Oman's royal fleet; at her delivery SuperYacht Times reported that she would join the 155-metre Lürssen superyacht Al Said in Muscat as part of that fleet (SuperYacht Times, July 2016). Boat International notes her large helideck and the lack of open-air relaxation spaces that mark her out as a support ship rather than a superyacht in her own right, and calls her the world's largest superyacht support vessel (Boat International, August 2016).
Who built and designed Fulk Al Salamah?
Mariotti Yachts built her in Genoa, Italy, under the code name Project Saffron; the project was first announced in 2014 and the ship left Genoa for Muscat on 28 July 2016 (Boat International, August 2016). SuperYacht Times credits Studio de Jorio with her exterior and interior design (SuperYacht Times); Boat International lists Mariotti Yachts as naval architect (Boat International).
Who owns Fulk Al Salamah?
Boat International reported at her delivery that her owners are believed to be the Omani royal family (Boat International, August 2016). SuperYacht Times describes her as an Omani royal yacht that would join Al Said as part of the royal fleet (SuperYacht Times, July 2016).
Where is Fulk Al Salamah now?
Her live position is shown on public AIS trackers: MarineTraffic and VesselFinder. Search by IMO 9714460 or MMSI 461002000 (MaritimeOptima). She sails under the flag of Oman (MaritimeOptima); at her delivery in 2016 she was bound for Muscat to join the royal fleet (SuperYacht Times, July 2016).
