In short
Venus is a 78.2-metre motor yacht that Feadship launched in the Netherlands in October 2012, designed inside and out by Philippe Starck with naval architecture by Feadship De Voogt (Feadship, Boat International). Feadship describes her as the world's first mastless motor yacht: the antennae and domes that normally sit on a mast or radar arch are hidden in a composite casing that lets signals through (Feadship). Her low superstructure is walled with about 15 tonnes of glass; because Lloyd's was not yet ready to accept load-bearing glass, the engineers Eckersley O'Callaghan supported it on a hidden 10-tonne aluminium frame (Boat International, 2024). She was built for Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died in 2011 before she was launched, and Boat International reports that she is now owned by Laurene Powell Jobs and used only privately (Boat International, 2021; Boat International, August 2026).
